NDLS- Covid-19 Restrictions in Dublin
The Government has announced restrictions relating to the spread of Covid-19 that applies to Dublin. These restrictions are effective until 9 October. The National Driver Licence Service (NDLS) offices in Dublin will be open for scheduled appointments during this time. Customers are advised they must meet all the standard Covid-19 measures as well as the additional restrictions applying to Dublin. If you cannot adhere to the restrictions do not attend and please cancel your appointment here.
Extension of Driving Licences and Learner Permits
All Driving Licences expiring between 1 March and 31 August 2020 have been automatically extended by seven months in total.
All Learner Permits expiring between 1 July and 31 October, 2020 (including those already extended), have been automatically extended for a further four month period.

Medical Requirements for those over 70
Up to 31 Dec 2020 persons over 70 years of age can (under certain circumstance) apply to renew a licence without providing a medical report providing they do not have an identified or specified illness - details here . The driving licence will be issued for a period of 3 years.
