DRIVING LICENCES that were due to expire between the 1st March and 30 June 2020 have been automatically extended by four months. This extension was not displayed on the permit but was reflected on the driver record.
LEARNER PERMITS that were due to expire on a date between 1 March and 30 June 2020 have been automatically extended by four months. This extension was not displayed on the permit but was reflected on the driver record.
For permits expiring between 1 July and 31 October, 2020 (including those already extended), the validity period of those permits will be automatically extended for a further four month period.
NOTE: You can only apply for a renewal of your driving licence / learner permit if it is within 3 months of the expiry date of your current licence / permit.

You are advised to attend no more than 5 minutes in advance of your appointed time.
There is no option to make an appointment over the phone and the NDLS Customer Call Centre cannot arrange, cancel or reschedule on-line appointments.
To access the online booking service you will need a valid Irish driver number or valid PPS number and a valid email or mobile phone number to receive confirmation of your appointment.
You will be presented with a list of available times, up to six weeks in advance.
You will be able to cancel and reschedule your online appointment by entering your information any time after making the initial appointment up to two hours before the appointment.
If you are attending an NDLS centre please ensure that you have a properly completed application form, that it is filled out in black ink and that you have all required supporting documents including proof of address and PPSN.
