Are you applying for a driving licence or learner permit?

The application process has changed

From Monday 9 April 2018 you will need a Public Services Card to apply for a driving licence or learner permit.

This change will simplify and increase the security of the application process, help combat fraud and keep unlicensed drivers off our roads.

The Public Services Card will now be the only form of identity accepted at NDLS centres when applying for the first time or renewing your driving licence or learner permit. It will be used to verify your name, PPS number, address and identity.

To find out more or to book an appointment to get your Public Services Card, visit www.psc.gov.ie or get in touch with your local Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection office. You can apply for a Public Services Card at over 100 locations throughout Ireland.

If you have any queries about the Public Services Card application process, please visit www.psc.gov.ie or lo-call 1890 927 999.
